Dear Macon East Families,
I would like to introduce myself, my name is Mike Petite and I have been hired as the new Headmaster at Macon East Montgomery Academy. It is truly an honor to have been chosen to lead this great school and to work with such a highly qualified and respected faculty and staff. The love for Macon East has shown in every single person I have met in my brief time on campus.
As a member of the SAIS-SACS Accreditation Visitation Team back in April, I was very impressed with the qualifications and dedication of the faculty and staff. I was even more impressed with the love for Macon East that was evident with everyone I interacted with those days. This is something that sparked my interest in becoming part of the Macon East family. The way the Academy Family cares about Macon East is what will allow this school to continue to grow and become the wonderful place we all know it to be.
I wanted to take this opportunity to invite each of you to come by the office and say hello the next time you are on campus. I look forward to meeting as many of you as possible prior to the start of school. Also, please mark August 9 in your calendars. That evening, starting at 6 PM, we will be hosting an Academy Family Picnic and K3-12 Open House and would love for you to take part. Macon East will provide the main dish and all paper products. We are asking Upper School families bring a side dish and Lower School families bring a drink or dessert to share. Dinner will start at 6 PM in the lunchroom and Open House will run from 7-7:30 PM. This promises to be a “feel good” event and a great way to start the new school year. Please make plans now to join us.
