Dear Macon East Families,

The choice to attend an independent school is a critical decision for a family to make.  A major factor in that choice is affordability.  We at Macon East strive to make our school the best educational value in the Montgomery area when considering cost, quality of education, leadership opportunities, student life, and extracurricular opportunities.  However, we understand that as affordable as we are, Macon East still may not be a financial reality.

To address that issue, Macon East will offer (for the first time in school history) financial assistance for tuition to both current and new families.  Macon East has partnered with School and Student Services (SSS) by the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) to offer financial assistance for tuition.  Please click on the logo below to learn more about the SSS process.  Financial information submitted by the family will be reviewed by SSS, who will then give a recommendation on the amount of tuition a family should be able to afford.  From that information, Macon East will be able to offer a discounted tuition to those families in need.  Financial assistance will be on an as available basis with a limited amount of funds for both current and new families.  Based on a current family’s financial situation, tuition discounts will be offered up to a maximum discount of fifty percent (50%) for current families.  Within your re-enrollment pack, you will find information about how to apply for aid if you are interested.  We encourage you to apply early as well as use the online service provided by SSS that will allow your application to receive the most consideration for assistance.

We hope that this new program will allow many of our current families to remain as well as allow us to attract many new quality families to Macon East.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at any time.  We look forward to serving you.

Sincerely,

Glynn Lott
Headmaster

  • Our school’s SSS code:   906551

  • Documents we require you to submit, in addition to the PFS:   Most recent 1040, 1040A or 1040EZ and W2 form

Macon East Academy Financial Aid Policies

Financial Aid Guidelines:

  • All families must be accepted to Macon East Academy before applying for financial aid
  • Families applying for financial aid must do so through School and Student Services (SSS) and are responsible for filling out all paperwork and for all costs incurred for the process.  You may save $12 by applying online at the SSS website.  A decision on if a family receives aid or not will be based on information supplied by the family and determined by (SSS), not by Macon East Academy.
  • Current families applying for financial aid must have all accounts up to date with the Finance Director’s office.
  • Any family that falls into delinquency on their school account past 60 days may lose their financial aid at that time and be responsible for the entire amount of tuition for the remainder of the school year.
  • Families receiving financial aid must reapply each year with no provisions given that they will receive the same amount of aid from year to year.
  • Aid awards will be discounted from the total cost of tuition including activity and building fees
  • All families are eligible for up to a 50% discount.
  • Aid is available to all enrolled families with students in grades 1-12.
  • APPLICATION DEADLINE  All applications for financial aid from returning families must be made prior to the last day of the FIRST semester of the school year of which you are applying for financial aid.
