Macon East fifth graders participate each year in the Drug Abuse Resistance Education program sponsored by the Montgomery County Sherriff’s Department. Corporal Koffee Anderson has been leading the D.A.R.E. program for several years and has built a wonderful relationship with the students and faculty. Meeting every Friday morning from September until January, the students have learned about drugs and their harmful effects as well as bullying. In a ceremony held January 29, the 5th graders each received a certificate and a special memento from Corporal Anderson.
