Macon East Academy has recently earned the 2023 Purple Star School designation, which is a great achievement. The Alabama Department of Education has recognized 122 schools throughout the state for this prestigious title, and we are proud to be among them. This achievement signifies our school’s dedication to supporting military students and their families. The Purple Star School program aims to address the issues of high mobility by identifying and designating military-friendly schools that meet specific standards. The Purple Star School Award is a recognition of schools that provide exceptional support to students and families associated with our nation’s military. At Macon East, we understand the challenges that military families face when transitioning to new homes and schools.
