Honoring the 2026 Knight Award Recipients

Macon East Academy proudly celebrates the 2026 Knight Award winners, an honor created to recognize one male and one female athlete who exemplify the true spirit of a Knight. More than athletic ability, this award reflects sportsmanship, leadership, integrity, and character—qualities demonstrated consistently on and off the field.

This year’s honorees, Sam Wallace and Jamya Powell, embody what every coach hopes to see in a student‑athlete. Their grit, humility, and unwavering dedication have elevated their teams and left a lasting impact on Macon East Athletics. Their leadership extends far beyond the scoreboard, inspiring teammates and strengthening the culture of excellence within our program.

A special commendation goes to Jamya Powell, who was also inducted into the Knights of the Round Table. Jamya achieved the rare distinction of being named an AISA All‑Star in all three sports she competed in—an elite accomplishment not seen at Macon East since 2016.

Celebrating the 2025 Sagamore Award Honorees

Macon East Academy proudly recognizes the 2025 Sagamore Award winners, a group of students whose character and daily actions set them apart. The Sagamore Award remains one of the school’s most cherished traditions, made especially meaningful because recipients are nominated by their peers. Fellow students identify those who consistently lead with integrity, kindness, humility, and a genuine desire to serve others.

More than an honor, the Sagamore Award reflects a way of life. It reinforces the timeless principle embraced at Macon East — God first, others second, and self third — a foundation that shapes students into compassionate leaders who make a lasting impact on their school and community.

The spirit of this tradition is rooted in the Sagamore Creed, which calls students to live with trustworthiness, joy, responsibility, and a commitment to becoming the best version of themselves each day.

Macon East Academy celebrates these remarkable students and the values they embody, honoring not only their achievements but the character that guides them.
