Armed with 6 AISA state championships, Chandler Lunn returns home to Macon East Academy as Head Coach of the JV Baseball team and assistant for the Varsity Baseball team. Chandler will also be filling in around the school as a substitute teacher. โ€œWe are glad to have Chandler back on campus,โ€ Coach Lott said. โ€œChandler was a great student leader when he was here as a student and hopefully will pass that as well as his hard work ethic to our students and athletes.โ€
Lunn, who graduated from Macon East Academy in 2017, was a part of the 2017 and 2022 state championships for the Knights. He attended Troy University and recently graduated with a degree in Physical Education. Chandler assisted Pike Liberal Arts school in their football, basketball, and baseball programs. He was a part of three state championships in baseball and one state championship in football for the Patriots. He interned this past fall at Wicksburg Elementary and High School in Newton, Alabama.
“I’m grateful that Coach Lott gave me this opportunity to be a part of the Knight family again with this role,” Lunn said of his return to Macon East. “Macon is an extremely special place to me. The program is heading in a great direction with the new facilities being built. There has never been a better time to be at Macon East, and Iโ€™m very excited to get to work!โ€
Chandlerโ€™s love of the game makes him a perfect Coach for upcoming student-athletes. Coach Lunn is ready to start the 2023 season with the junior varsity baseball team which begins on February 20 at Fort Dale Academy in Greenville, Alabama. Good luck and Go Knights!
Chandler is engaged to Anna Starling of Troy. We are excited to welcome Coach Lunn back to the Macon East family.

Community Service Projects at Macon East

Macon East Academyโ€™s SGA strives to make a difference and help those in need.ย  During the months of November and December, the school participated in Dixie Electricโ€™s Food Drive during the 12s Day of Giving and collected over 1,200 items for the Montgomery Area Food Bank. Macon East lower school through 8th grade also joined together for their Christmas service project to collect Christmas gifts for Heart to Heart, a local foster care ministry.ย  The Montgomery Humane Society benefitted from the 9th and 10th grade classes donating much needed supplies.ย  11th and 12th grades focused on Mid-Alabama Coalition for the Homeless donating cold weather jackets and gloves.ย  Community involvement is very important for all students at Macon East.

Mother’s Day Out Fun!

Macon Eastโ€™s Motherโ€™s Day Out students are counting down the days until Christmas and they have been busy with many Christmas activities. From reviewing our academic skills using Christmas themes to making ornaments and surprises for our families, the classroom has been buzzing. They have also learned that giving is just as important as receiving. The students collected can goods for the Dixie Electric Food Drive and donated toys for the Heart to Heart Foster Care Ministry. They took their first off-campus field trip to Choctafaula Farms where they participated in Christmas games, took a trail ride to see camels, goats, horses, cows, wildebeests, ostriches, and zebras, and topped off the day with a visit from Santa.
