Macon East spelling bee winners in fourth through eighth grades represented their school as the Alabama Independent School Association district and state competitions. Fifth grader, Madison Vocino and eighth grader, Kaiden Byrom won 1st place at the district event. For Kaiden this was her fifth time winning the district spelling bee at each grade level and advancing to the state competition. Chase Lashlee was also honored for his 3rd place finish in the district 7th grade bee.  Other students representing Macon East at district event were, Adam Fitch (4th grade) and Jackson Todd (6th grade). At the state spelling bee, Kaiden Byrom was the eigth grade state runner-up, and Madison Vocino finished 4th in the state for the fifth grade. We congratulate all of these students on their outstanding accomplishments.
