Macon East’s PTO partnered again this year with Boosterthon Fun Run for their annual fundraiser.  The Boosterthon mission is to incorporate character training, physical fitness, and a fundraising program that allows the students, not the parents, to do the fundraising.  This year the Boosterthon theme was Castle Quest, an English castle theme all about bravery.  Students learned the six virtues of a “true hero” – focus, self-awarenesss, respect, trustworthiness, and creativity throughout the week leading up to the big event as they got pledges from family and friends.  As always, the Fun Run event was full of excitement, music, lights and lots of fun.  The PTO set a fundraising goal of $5,000, and thanks to the hard work of our students, parents, and teachers, the PTO exceeded the goal by $2,000.  Money raised will be used to upgrade the sound system in the cafetorium which is used by the entire school for a variety of school events.  Thank you to everyone who participated in this year’s Fun Run and contributed to its success.
