Congratulations to our JV Baseball team on placing Runner-Up in the Lowndes JV Baseball tournament. They were undefeated going into the championship game against Edgewood but after a very long day of baseball they didn’t have time to play another game. 𝗝𝗮𝗰𝗸𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗧𝗼𝗱𝗱 and 𝗕𝗿𝘆𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗚𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗲𝘀 were named to the All-Tournament team.
“This is an incredible group of guys, with grit, determination, and love of the game. I look forward to the rest of the season with them as they come together as a team and get ready for the State tournament.” – 𝗖𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗹𝗲𝗿 𝗟𝘂𝗻𝗻
Macon East Lady Knights Softball team recently participated in the Eastman-Kingsport Softball Invitational in Kingsport, Tennessee. This is an exciting event and is a great opportunity to play some competitive teams. The Lady Knights went 5-2 on the weekend and finished in the top 4! The Macon East softball program is a long-standing tradition of champions, and the girls, parents, and coaches really enjoy this bonding trip.
Macon East Academy Senior 𝗝𝗮𝗰𝗼𝗯 𝗪𝗶𝗹𝘀𝗼𝗻 has made his mark! He was recently selected to the 2022-23 Montgomery Advertiser All-Metro boys basketball team – Small School First Team. He earned first-team AISA All-State honors and is the Alabama Sportswriter Association AISA Player of the Year. He also made the All-Region Tournament Team, AISA All-Star and All-Tournament Team for the State Finals. Wilson averaged 12.3 points per game, 4.6 assists, 3.9 rebounds and 3.2 steals per game while shooting over 50% from the field.
“Jacob, this season, has been one of the best leaders and players to ever play in the Macon Academy East program. His work ethic and passion for the game was remarkable, and how he led by example everyday was the catalyst for us being 25-7 and State Runner Ups this season. Jacob told me before the season started, he wanted to leave a legacy here at Macon and make an impact not only on the court but also in the school. With his dazzling ball handling skills, to his amazing stop and pop jump shot I believe he did just that. I’m so blessed to have coached him this season, such a great young man of character and a true servant leader, Jacob will do some amazing things to better our society.” 𝗖𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝗟𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗻 𝗚𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀

Deonte Powell, Jacob Wilson and Gabe Spencer were recently honored at the 22nd Biennial Beautillion Militaire Gala and Dinner fundraiser on March 4, 2023 at the Maxwell Air Force Base. The Beautillion Militaire is a time-honored tradition of the Montgomery Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. The event provides high school junior and senior young men in the community with an opportunity to develop their cultural, social, and academic potential through workshops, community service, and social activities. The activities culminate in an elegant night of dancing and military-style drills.
Founded in 1938, Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated is a membership organization of mothers with children ages 2-19, dedicated to nurturing future African American leaders by strengthening children through leadership development, volunteer service, philanthropic giving, and civic duty.
We are super proud of these young men as they exemplify leadership and are great mentors to their peers at Macon East.

Congratulations to 𝗔𝗻𝗻𝗮 𝗪𝗮𝘁𝘀𝗼𝗻 as she has been chosen to represent Dixie Electric Cooperative at the 2023 Montgomery Youth Tour in March.
The Youth Tour provides the opportunity for outstanding high school juniors to participate in leadership programs, learn more about the cooperative form of business, and tour historical sites in our state capital, as well as our nation’s capital. Congratulations, Anna! We are so proud of you and know she will represent Macon well.
