APPRECIATION FOR KEEPING MEA STUDENTS SAFE

Macon East Academy lower school students, parents and teachers worked together to show their appreciation to the Montgomery Sheriff’s Department and the Pike Road Fire Department for helping to keep our students safe. The Fire Department visits the school each year with their fire truck to teach students about fire safety. The Montgomery Sheriff’s Department monitors the school each day during school hours to keep our campus secure. They collected various snack items and drinks for baskets to place in the break rooms of the fire department and sheriff’s department.

Macon East Admissions: What to Know About Applying

This school year is nearly over, but the 2020-2021 semesters are just over the horizon! That means you and your student could be only few months away from joining the marvelous Macon East family. If you’re ready to apply, here’s all you need to know about Macon East admissions.

Requesting an Enrollment Pack

The first step to applying to Macon East Academy starts with requesting an enrollment packet through the mail. You and your student can fill it out together, along with the application, and send it back. You can also find the Macon East admissions application here.

Materials You’ll Need

As you apply for Macon East Academy, you should procure the following supplies, resources, and recommendations:

  • The Macon East enrollment packet;
  • An enrollment fee payment;
  • A filled-out admission form;
  • Evaluations from past teachers and administrators;
  • Positive teacher recommendations;
  • Student records, including testing scores, attendance, report cards, and discipline statements (we have a form for that right here); and
  • Past transcripts.

Touring the School

Part of the Macon East admissions process involves touring the school, so you and your student can experience the environment we cultivate first-hand. Right now, this stage may be postponed or replaced with a different method like kll3 video chat interviews, as we’re currently observing social distancing. Thanks for your patience!

New Family Referral Forms

Are you friends with a Macon East Academy student or alumnus? Or do you already have a student enrolled and want to recommend us to a family? The Macon East family referral form can help make the process easier—so download it here!

Wait-listing

Classroom sizes limit the amount of applicants we can accept! If your student qualifies but the classroom spots have already been filled, we will keep your student on a waitlist, notifying you if or when a spot opens. The earlier you apply, the higher up your spot will be.

GPA Requirements

Students with a 2.5 GPA or higher automatically meet the GPA requirements. If a student has a 2.0-2.49 GPA, he or she may still be accepted, though we will make that choice on a conditional basis.

Personal Interviews

If your student is interested in applying, we recommend letting us conduct a personal interview with him or her! Transcripts and papers can make it hard to convey a sense of personality. An interview, though, can help your student explain why he or she will thrive at Macon East Academy. It will also help him or her decide if he or she wants to join the Macon East Knights!

Equal Opportunities and Non-Discriminatory Policy

We follow a non-discriminatory policy. Students of all races, nationalities, and ethnic origins are welcome at Macon East! All applicants will have equal opportunities to apply.

Enrolling Advantages for Siblings and Faculty Members’ Children

Does your student already have a sibling who attends or used to attend Macon East Academy? We may give applicants related to alumni preference in the admissions process. Additionally, we may give preference to the children of staff and faculty members.

Summary

There’s one more thing to know about the Macon East admissions: we can’t wait to welcome you! The 2020-2021 school year will arrive in just a few months, so don’t forget to apply as soon as possible.
