NJHS Inductees at Macon East
The Macon East Academy chapter of the National Junior Honor Society inducted twelve new members into the academic honor society today. The National Junior Honor Society is the nation’s premier organization established to recognize outstanding middle grade students. NJHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship. At a ceremony conducted by the officers of the Macon East NJHS chapter the following students were welcomed into membership: York Harless, Brandon Fitch, Bentley Graham, Livi Robinson, Berkley Harris, Jamya Powell, Campbell Loughridge, Avery Kyser, Isabella Browder, Maggie Whatley, Matthew Simpson, and Kam Akron. We congratulate these students on their outstanding accomplishments in academics and leadership.

Armed with 6 AISA state championships, Chandler Lunn returns home to Macon East Academy as Head Coach of the JV Baseball team and assistant for the Varsity Baseball team. Chandler will also be filling in around the school as a substitute teacher. “We are glad to have Chandler back on campus,” Coach Lott said. “Chandler was a great student leader when he was here as a student and hopefully will pass that as well as his hard work ethic to our students and athletes.”

Congratulations to Junior, 𝗔𝗻𝗻𝗮 𝗪𝗮𝘁𝘀𝗼𝗻, on being chosen to be an alumni staff member at the Hugh O Brien Youth Leadership conference on the campus of Troy University this summer. Alumni staff members work with the seminar operations team, lead ambassadors in energizers, and perform support activities throughout the Alabama HOBY seminar weekend. We are so proud to have Anna be selected and to represent Macon East!
